Tom Carroll

  New Apple Core CHA Head Coach Tom Carroll comes fresh from the Head coaching job at Stony Brook University. Tom left Stony Brook with an impressive record of 94 wins with 12 loses along with two Super East Colligate Championships, National rankings of  #7  his first season and # 5 after his second season at the ACHA Division II level.

  Coach Carroll took the team to the next level by moving them into the Division I bracket of the ACHA where again he lead the team to a second place finish in the ECHL and to the Nationals birth at Division I finishing the year as the # 15th ranked team in the country in their first year.

  Coach Carroll has moved up the ranks through the youth hockey world, earning his strips in the Long Island Hockey league starting with the Nassau County Bantam Cubs. His work ethic and knowledge of the game got him a quick promotion to the Head Coach position of the Midget Lions AAA team where he helped the team make and compete in the Long Island League Playoffs. His teams were always a step away from State Tournament births. At this level Coach Carroll had moved many players to the Junior and Collegiate levels, which lead his career to the assistant Head Coach position with the Nassau Community College Lions team that was not ranked but was soon a contender and moved up the ranks to the # 12 spot in the North East Division. This is where his talent was recognized and he was offered the Head Coaching position at Stony Brook University

  Coach Carroll is also involved in the Nassau County High School league as Head Coach of the Levittown Varsity team he has led the Varsity Team to four Nassau County Championships in the Non-Tournament bound bracket, and has been to the finals the last three straight seasons, winning two of the three and four of the last seven championships.

   Coach Carroll comes to the Apple Core organization through General Manager Henry Lazar, after a conversation between the two G.M. Lazar gave the Head Coach position to Coach Carroll to lead the Young Guns Junior “B” CHA team to help develop players for the organization. Coach Carroll has always helped players develop and get ready for the next level, and is looking forward to the new challenges that lay ahead.
