SPECIAL JUNIOR B CHARITY EVENT
Long Beach, NY- The New York
Apple Core Junior B team has a strong reputation
when it comes to charity, and giving back to the
community. This year, the team will be extending
their helping hand once again, as they invite
the DYLAN CRUTHERS 'KIDS HELPING KIDS' TOY
DRIVE.
On Saturday December 2nd at 4pm
the team will be hosting the Virginia Statesmen
in the first of two games at Long Beach Arena.
During the game the 'Kids helping Kids' toy
drive will be collecting new and unopened toys
for underprivileged and abused children which
will be donated to the Children's Advocacy
Center. Dylan Cruthers will be on-hand to
personally thank everyone for their generosity.
'I am expecting the event to be a huge success,"
said Dylan Cruthers. "I hope to collect a lot of
toys which will ultimately make some kids
holiday a little happier and maybe inspire
someone else to create a charity or help in a
charity."
Dylan, only twelve-years-old, started the
charity when he was just a four-year-old boy in
1998. Dylan's older brother, Ryan, played for
Apple Core and was apart of the Apple Core EJHL
Championship team in 2003. That same season,
Dylan served as team equipment manager and
received a championship ring.
"Apple Core players and other people involved
in the organization have supported my charity
from the start," said Dylan."Its great that
Apple Core has been so supportive of my charity
and how Apple Core always gets involved in
helping others."
Dylan has made an impact on many people around
Long Island and the Apple Core community. Head
Coach Chris Cosentino is confident and excited
to have the Apple Core community show how
generous it can be during the Holiday season.
"I can not begin to talk about how much I admire
Dylan and his efforts," said Cosentino. "He has
made such an impact on me that I hope many
others get to know how much of a positive role
model he is, no matter how old you are."
There will be exciting raffles and prizes for
those who donate toys in attendance. *Also,
Santa Clause will also be in attendance to take
pictures, and cheer on Apple Core.
