period and never turned on the jets
throughout the entire contest. At the

doing 20 wind sprints as punishment in
practice on Wednesday night because of the
lack of effort in the game.
On Saturday evening the NY AC Bantam 93 Team

to breathe throughout the entire game. At
the end of the contest the CORE won by a

at the NE Regional Silver Sticks Tournament
in Bridgeport, CT over the weekend.
The first game was on Friday night against

Team came out flat in the first and second
period. The team turned it on in the third
period but tied Adirondack 4 to 4.

On Sunday the NY AC Bantam 93 Team played
the Wonderland Wizards in the semi-finals.
The Wonderland Wizards had no chance against
Apple Core from the drop of the first puck
until the final whistle. The 93 Team
outworked the Wizards on both ends of the
ice and won the contest 7 to 1. In the
finals on Sunday the NY AC Bantam 93 Team
faced the Taylor Wild from Michigan. The
Wild are a strong, physical and highly
skilled team. They were ranked 4th in the
country before the weekend and recently beat
the #1 team in the country on Thursday
morning before the tournament. The NY AC
Bantam 93 Team played with the Wild for the
entire first period and proved that hard
work and determination can go a long way in
the game of hockey. At the end of the
contest the NY AC Bantam 93 Team lost 6 to
0.
"This was a good test for my boys to play
against one of the top AA Teams in the
country. If we win states and go to
Nationals we will face teams like the Taylor
Wild in every game of the tournament. We
have our work cut out for us but a team who
works hard and never gives up will succeed"

NY AC Bantam 93 Team DEFEATS the SI Rangers and the LI
Rebels
10/22/2007
|
|
The NY AC Bantam 93 Team won both league
games this past weekend. They beat the SI
Rangers 6 to 3 and beat the LI Rebels 5 to
3.
The first game on Saturday verse the SI
Rangers was a slow paced hockey game with
not enough puck movement but the 93 Team got
the job done and won the hockey game 6 to
3. "We hit the post 3 times and could have
easily won the game 10 to 3" stated
Assistant Coach, Lenny Raimondi.
Sunday's game was one of the most important
games of the season for the NY AC Bantam 93
team. They faced the LI Rebels at 5pm at
the Dix Hills Ice Arena. The LI Rebels are
one of the better teams in the LIAHL, but
the NY AC Bantam 93 Team showed tthat hey
are the team to beat. After the second
period the NY AC Bantam 93 Team was trailing
the LI Rebels by a score of 3 to 0. "We
were down a man for the entire first
period. The flow of the game was completely
taken away by the referees" stated Head
Coach, Bryan Reilly. After the first period
was over, Coach Reilly had a few words of
wisdom for the boys and the team responded
with 5 unanswered goals in the second and
third period. The NY AC Bantam 93 team won
the game 5 to 3.
"This game against the Rebels was a great
learning tool for all of my boys. It showed
that even though you are down by a few goals
the game is never over. If you keep working
hard and doing the little things right you
will win the hockey game. I am sure the
entire team learned from this experience and
will use this battle test as a stepping
stone moving forward into next weekends
Silver Stick Tournament in Bridgeport, CT"
stated Coach Reilly.

AC Bantam 93 Team WINS First Two League Games Of The Season
News Flash as of 10/09/2007 |

The NY Apple Core Bantam 93 Team won its
first two league games of the season this
past weekend against the LI Edge and the
Freeport Arrows.
The 93 Team beat the LI Edge 9 to 2 on
Saturday night and beat the Freeport Arrows
1 to 0 on Sunday evening. Christian Knoch
played exceptionally well in net this
weekend and the coaching staff is extremely
proud of his work ethic and determination in

is chomping at the bit to get back in the
action after having off this weekend and
will be ready to compete this coming weekend
against the Staten Island Rangers and the LI
Rebels. "We have two of the most talented
goaltenders in the league. Spencer and
Christian will help us win a State
Championship this year" stated Coach
Reilly.
The game against the Arrows was a hard
fought battle by two LIAHL power house
organizations. The pace of the game was
fast and furious. "The Arrows had their A
Game prepared for us and it showed. Even
though, we hit 4 posts in the contest we
only came away with a 1 to 0 Win, but a win
is a win no matter how you look at. A 1 to
0 WIN is the same as a 7 to 0 win. My boys
played hard and deserved to win the hockey
game. It was an all around team effort"
stated Coach Reilly.
Interim Assistant Coach, Ed Alonge, did
great with the defenseman and was an
intricate part in Sunday nights victory over
the Arrows.

NY AC Bantam
93 Team Defeats the NJ Titans and the Ramapo
Saints
|
|
by Bryan
Reilly
The NY AC Bantam 93 Team
defeated the NJ Titans 8 to
1 on Saturday night at
Newbridge Ice Arena and beat
the Ramapo Saints 5 to 2 at
Sport-O-Rama in Monsey, NY
on Sunday afternoon.
The AC Bantam 93 Team
dominated the entire game
against the NJ Titans
outshooting them 45 to 8.
The Ramapo Saints have a
young well skating team that
gave the Core a run for
their money. The Core went
up 3 to 0 heading into the
second period but took a
couple of dumb penalties
which opened the flood gates
for the Saints. The Saints
scored 2 power play goals to
the make the score 3 to 2
halfway through the second
period. Eventhough, the
Core put themslves in a hole
they were able to rally back
and score 2 unanswered goals
in the third period to win
the game 5 to 2. Coach
Reilly also took a penalty
in the game. He will be
doing wind sprints with the
team as a punishment for
opening his mouth when he
wasn't supposed to.
"All of the conditioning we
have been doing in practice
is definitely paying off in
the long run. Some of the
teams we have faced have
been able to skate with us
for 2 periods but when the
third period comes around
our team is in better shape
and is well prepared to
fight hard until the final
whistle. My boys played
very well this weekend. We
have to take our game to the
next level over the next
couple of months in order to
compete with the powerhouse
organizations from upstate
NY" stated Coach Reilly.
